Your four-step ritual
Let the wax settle into its rhythm
On the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface, within the time stated on your candle’s label. Never exceed the recommended burn time or leave your candle unattended.
Pause, cool, repeat
Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. Let the wax set and the jar cool completely before moving it or trimming the wick for your next burn. If the flame becomes unusually high or smoky, extinguish it and let it cool.
Know when to say goodnight
Follow the stop-use guidance on your candle’s label. For a container candle, stop with at least 12 mm (½ inch) of wax remaining. Never burn down to the base or use a cracked or damaged jar.
A SECOND LIFE
The last burn isn’t the end.
Once your candle has cooled completely, gently remove the remaining wax and wash the empty vessel with warm, soapy water. Avoid boiling water, sudden temperature changes and sharp tools. Keep wax out of the drain.

How long should I burn my candle?
Always follow the instructions on your candle’s label, especially for minis. Burn times vary with the size and vessel. Never burn for more than four hours at a time, and allow the candle to cool completely between burns.
Why is there wax around the edge?
A little wax on the sides can even out over later burns. Keep the wick trimmed and allow an even melt pool within the labelled burn time. Do not extend a burn beyond the stated limit to chase the last bit of wax.
Why is my candle smoking?
Extinguish the candle and let it cool. Before relighting, trim the wick, remove debris and move the candle away from draughts. Stop using it if smoking or an unusually high flame continues.
Can I reuse my candle glass?
Yes—once it has cooled and the remaining wax has been removed. Clean it gently and reuse it for brushes, stationery or small keepsakes. Do not refill it with wax unless the vessel has been assessed for safe candle reuse.
